No Deposit Casino Bonuses in South Africa (2026)
A no-deposit bonus gives you free money in ZAR or free spins just for signing up — no deposit required. Three SA-licensed operators in the South African online gambling market currently offer them, plus one offshore casino. This guide is part of our casino bonuses hub.
We claimed every no-deposit bonus available to SA players in March 2026 and tracked exactly what happened — from sign-up to withdrawal. Not theoretical value. Actual tested results. See our editorial methodology for how we test.
Every no-deposit bonus in SA — tested
| Operator | Bonus | Wagering | Max Withdrawal | Clearable? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hollywoodbets | R25 free bet + 50 free spins | 1x (sports) / 5x (spins) | Uncapped / R1,200 | Yes |
| Supabets | R50 free bet + 100 free spins | 3x (odds 2/1+) | Capped | Yes |
| Gbets | R50 free bet | 3x (odds 6/10+) | Capped | Yes |
| Springbok | R250 no-deposit cash | 30x | Limited | No |
The short version: All three SA-licensed no-deposit bonuses are worth claiming. The offshore one (Springbok) looks bigger but the 30x wagering makes it practically impossible to withdraw. For the full maths behind wagering requirements, see our wagering guide.
Hollywoodbets — R25 free bet + 50 free spins
What you get: R25 sports free bet and 50 free spins on slots, credited immediately after registration and FICA.
Wagering: The free bet requires 1x turnover at minimum odds of 0.5+ (decimal). That means you place one bet of R25 and you're done. Free spin winnings require 5x wagering on slots, with a R1,200 maximum withdrawal cap.
What actually happened when we tested it
Free bet: Placed R25 on a Currie Cup rugby match at odds 0.70. Won. R42.50 returned to our account. Bonus cleared in approximately 30 seconds — one bet, done. The R17.50 profit was immediately withdrawable.
Free spins: 50 spins returned R18.40 in winnings. We then wagered R92 at R0.10 per spin across 920 spins (roughly 90 minutes of play). Ended with R14.20 withdrawable after meeting the 5x requirement.
Total profit from zero risk: R26.70 from a R10 deposit. We withdrew the profit via EFT to our Capitec account. The deposit was only needed to activate the account — the bonus itself required no deposit.
Our take: This is the best no-deposit offer in South Africa. The 1x wagering on the free bet is as close to free money as gambling gets. You won't retire on R25, but you'll learn the platform with zero risk. The free spins are a nice extra, though the 5x wagering and R1,200 cap keep expectations realistic.
Supabets — R50 free bet + 100 free spins
What you get: R50 sports free bet and 100 free spins on Habanero slot games, credited after registration.
Wagering: Free bet requires 3x turnover at minimum odds of 2/1 (3.0 decimal). That's R150 in total bets at higher odds — achievable in 3-6 bets on weekend football accumulators or outright markets. Free spin winnings carry a separate wagering requirement.
Expiry: 15 days from credit. Enough time if you bet regularly, tight if you don't.
How it compares to Hollywoodbets: Bigger bonus (R50 vs R25) but harder wagering (3x at 2/1+ vs 1x at 0.5+). The minimum odds requirement of 2/1 means you need to find bets where the payout is at least 3x your stake — these are less likely to win. Net expected value is similar.
Supabets also offers a multi-deposit welcome package up to R5,000 across three deposits if you decide to continue. That's separate from the no-deposit offer. See our Supabets review for the full breakdown.
Gbets — R50 free bet
What you get: R50 sports free bet on registration. No free spins included.
Wagering: 3x at minimum odds of 6/10 (1.6 decimal). That's R150 in total bets — similar to Supabets but at much lower minimum odds, making it significantly easier to clear. Odds of 6/10 are common on most football match favourites.
The multi-deposit angle: Gbets structures their full welcome offer across four deposits — R50 free bet (no deposit), then 50% up to R1,000, 75% up to R2,000, and 100% up to R3,000 on subsequent deposits. Total potential: R6,050 at 6x wagering. That's the most player-friendly deposit match structure among SA operators.
See our Gbets review for the complete assessment.
Springbok Casino — R250 no-deposit (offshore)
What you get: R250 cash bonus on registration. No deposit required.
Wagering: 30x on the bonus amount. That's R250 × 30 = R7,500 in total wagers before you can withdraw. At 96% average RTP, you'll mathematically lose about R300 over R7,500 in wagers — more than the bonus itself.
Why we rate it "not clearable": The maths works against you. R250 sounds generous, but 30x wagering means the expected outcome is a net loss. Table games contribute only 10-25% toward wagering, so you're essentially forced onto slots. Compare Hollywoodbets' R25 at 1x — you clear it in one bet. Springbok's R250 at 30x requires hours of play with a negative expected value.
Springbok is also an offshore casino operating under a Curaçao licence — not regulated by a South African provincial gambling board. Withdrawals take 3-5 business days versus same-day at SA-licensed operators.
Our take: Claim it if you're already playing at Springbok and treat it as extended playtime, not as withdrawable cash. Don't sign up specifically for this bonus.
The R100 zero-risk strategy
If you're new to SA online casinos, here's what we'd do:
- Sign up at Hollywoodbets — claim the R25 free bet. Place one sports bet at decent odds. Withdraw if you win. Total time: 5 minutes.
- Sign up at Supabets — claim the R50 free bet. Use it on a weekend accumulator. Withdraw within 15 days.
- Sign up at Gbets — claim the R50 free bet. Place a few bets on football favourites to clear the 3x wagering.
Total free bets: R125. Total risk: R0. You'll learn three different platforms, see which app you prefer, and potentially walk away with ZAR profit withdrawn to your Capitec, FNB, or any SA bank account. Complete FICA verification at each operator immediately after registration so withdrawals process without delay.
Set deposit limits at each operator before you play — even with free money, it's good practice.
No-deposit bonuses vs deposit match bonuses
| No-Deposit | Deposit Match | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to claim | R0 | Your own money |
| Typical amount | R25–R250 | R1,000–R24,000 |
| Wagering | 1x–30x | 3x–50x |
| Can you actually clear it? | Usually yes (SA-licensed) | Rarely (offshore) |
| Risk | Zero | Your deposit |
The no-deposit bonus at Hollywoodbets (R25, 1x wagering) has better expected value than Betway's R2,000 casino bonus at 30x wagering. Bigger numbers don't mean better value. See our wagering requirements guide for the full expected value calculations.
What about no-deposit bonus codes?
Some offshore casinos — particularly Springbok and Thunderbolt — use bonus codes for their promotions. Springbok's codes include TAKE300 and WELCOME300 for deposit match bonuses (not no-deposit). SA-licensed operators (Hollywoodbets, Supabets, Gbets) don't use bonus codes — the no-deposit bonus is automatically credited on registration.
Watch out for fake codes. Many affiliate sites list "exclusive" bonus codes that are expired, invented, or only work for new accounts in specific regions. If a code doesn't work, it's not your fault — the code is likely invalid. Stick to bonuses listed directly on the operator's website or app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which SA casino has the best no-deposit bonus?
Hollywoodbets — R25 free bet at 1x wagering. It's the easiest to clear (one bet), has no maximum withdrawal cap on the free bet, and we tested it successfully. Supabets offers R50 but with harder wagering requirements (3x at 2/1+ odds).
Can I claim no-deposit bonuses at multiple casinos?
Yes. Each operator's bonus is independent. You can sign up at Hollywoodbets, Supabets, and Gbets and claim all three no-deposit bonuses — R125 total in free bets with zero risk. You'll need to complete FICA verification at each one separately.
Do I need to deposit to get a no-deposit bonus?
No — that's the point. You register, verify your account, and the bonus is credited automatically. Some operators require a minimum deposit to activate the account (Hollywoodbets requires R10), but the bonus itself is free. The deposit stays in your account and can be withdrawn.
Are no-deposit bonuses really free?
Yes, in the sense that you don't risk your own money. The casino gives you free bets or spins as an incentive to try their platform. The catch is wagering requirements — you must bet the bonus a certain number of times before withdrawing winnings. At SA-licensed casinos (1x-3x wagering), this is genuinely achievable. At offshore casinos (30x wagering), it's mathematically unlikely.
Can I withdraw no-deposit bonus winnings immediately?
Not immediately — you must first meet the wagering requirement. At Hollywoodbets (1x wagering), you can clear it in one bet and withdraw within minutes. At operators with higher wagering (3x-30x), it takes longer. You also need completed FICA verification before any withdrawal processes. See our withdrawal guide for tested processing times.
